One of the nicest places to eat is by the Brisbane river, and the Stokehouse is one of the best. We went for a late lunch a couple of weeks ago and although we had to look for parking we were glad to finally be seated near the window with a great view of the river.
The modern chic restaurant was pleasantly airy on such a hot day and the beautiful wooden wall coverings complimented the crisp white walls and table linen. Our waitress was super, she gave us a full run down of the days specials , describing some dishes and their ingredients.I have said on all my food review how wonderful it is to have knowledgeable staff waiting on your table. The wine menu is great with almost too much to choose from.
I wanted to try the buttersquash with spinach and ricotta rotolo as I had heard it was delicious and it was heavenly. My companions had the lamb and the grilled beef and we shared a salad with feta and currents and house dressing (delicious).
The signature dessert Bombe is too good for words!!!! Frozen white chocolate parfait with strawberries and toasted meringue who could ask for anything more 🙂
