The Barefoot Investor

20170118_112800Book No: 9

I came across this book by accident and I am so glad I did. I had been giving my finances a lot of thought lately, and wondering who to ask, where to go for advice and as  I don’t have heaps of money I wasn’t sure how to go about it.

Two nights before I had made a list of things I want in my life and sent it off to the Universe (another first for me) but that’s for another blog.

Anyway , on the list I asked for guidance with my finances for my future. Then hey presto this book arrived in the post for my daughter. But, I got first dibs on it and now only am I a follower but my daughter also follows his advice.

The book is written in a way that everyone can understand it.

Scott Pape, the author lost everything in 2014 in a bushfire but what he did next is a truly inspiring. The book tells his story and at the same time sets out to show us the way to make our money grow , whether you are on a basic income or you have lots of money. Not only does he tell you where to put your money but how and why. He sets each step  as ‘date nights’ and that’s the time you set aside to work on your finances, preferably to do with a partner but it’s ok if you are on your own like me. You get step by step advice to help you set up your basic accounts and then how to manage and control them. I read the book from cover to cover but I find that it’s a great reference book. I am now looking forward to the future and being more financially secure .

Last Sunday afternoon while out with a friend we were chatting about the future, what we hoped and dreamed for and I started to tell her about this wonderful book and to both our surprises she was already a fan of Scott’s , having read his first book 5 years before. Instantly we had another same interest, she gave the book to her son and when I go home to Ireland I will give the book to my other children and maybe together we can build an empire!!!!!!  Why not:) Everything is possible.
